About Turning Stones, LLC
Turning Stones was created as a space for reflection, healing, and meaningful change. The name comes from the idea that growth often begins when we slow down and gently turn over the “stones” in our lives, exploring what has been hidden or carried for a long time.
Therapy here is a place to pause, look beneath the surface, and create new ways forward at a pace that feels supportive and sustainable.
Meet Vanessa Chavez, LCSW
I’m a licensed clinical social worker with over a decade of experience supporting adults navigating trauma, anxiety, chronic stress, and recovery from substance use. My work is rooted in trauma-informed and body-based therapy, with a focus on how life experiences are held in both the mind and nervous system.
I believe therapy works best as a collaborative process. My goal is to create a space that feels steady, supportive, and grounded so you can explore your experiences, build regulation, and create meaningful change in everyday life.
How I Work
My approach integrates Somatic Experiencing, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based therapies such as CBT and ACT. Together, we focus on understanding how your nervous system responds to stress and developing practical tools to support regulation, resilience, and long-term change.
Therapy with me is collaborative, supportive, and paced to feel safe and manageable.
Therapeutic Philosophy
My approach is trauma-informed, body-centered, and tailored to your unique needs. I combine evidence-based methods with a compassionate, client-centered framework to help you navigate challenges, process difficult experiences, and build resilience. Therapy is a space where you can bring your whole self, including your struggles, your pain, and your hopes, and together we will identify patterns, develop practical coping strategies, and create pathways toward healing and growth.
